Getting started
How do I switch to Zenbody from another provider or from insurance?
The short answer
To switch, start Zenbody’s online assessment and share the GLP‑1 you take now, your current dose and your health history. A clinician licensed in your state reviews it and decides whether compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide is right for you, and at what dose.
Two kinds of switchers
Most people who switch are in one of two spots. Some already pay cash for a compounded GLP‑1 and are tired of membership fees, or of a bill that keeps creeping up. Others get a brand-name GLP‑1 through insurance and have just learned their plan will stop covering it, often when a new plan year starts.
The steps are the same for both.
How the switch works
- Have your details handy. Your medication’s name, your dose, and roughly when you took your last one. Keeping your current label nearby makes this easy.
- Take the assessment. It’s online and takes about 3 minutes. You’ll be asked what you take now.
- A clinician reviews it. They look at your history and decide whether treatment is appropriate and which dose to start. Review typically takes about 24 hours, but some cases take longer.
- Your medication ships. After approval, delivery typically takes about 2 business days.
One more thing: don’t stop or change what you take now on your own. Ask the clinician how to time the move.
Coming off a brand-name medication?
Compounded medications are different products from the brand-name medications your plan may cover now. They aren’t generic versions. A licensed pharmacy prepares them for one patient at a time, from a prescription, and the clinician decides whether one fits you. What “compounded” means, and what it doesn’t.
What you’d pay
You don’t need insurance. Semaglutide is $149 the first month, then $249 a month for the injection, or $199 then $299 for the tablet. Tirzepatide is $179 then $299 for the injection, or $299 then $349 for the tablet. Clinician, medication and shipping are included, with no membership fee added.
Ready to compare? Start your assessment. If you’re not approved, you’re fully refunded.
Common questions
Will I have to restart at the lowest dose?
Not necessarily. Your clinician can keep you on your current dose if it’s right for you. You’ll be asked for proof of your current prescription, so have it handy when you start.
My insurance is ending coverage. Can I still apply?
Yes. Zenbody is self-pay, so your coverage changing doesn’t change your price. A licensed clinician still has to decide that treatment is right for you. Paying without insurance, or with an HSA or FSA.
Is Zenbody available in my state?
Zenbody serves all 50 states plus Washington, D.C. A few places require a short live video visit before a first prescription: Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.
When am I charged?
At checkout, after you finish the assessment and before the clinician’s review. If you’re not approved, you’re fully refunded.
